Lyman-Richey Intern Josue Mendez Earns Concrete Scholarship

Josue Mendez wins Nebraska Concrete & Aggregates Association Concrete Scholarship

Josue Mendez was the recipient of the inaugural Nebraska Concrete & Aggregates Association Scholarship, supporting Nebraska students going through the Concrete Industry Management program. Josue was one of the first students to participate in the program at South Dakota State University, which began being offered in the fall of 2021. The Concrete Industry Management (CIM) program was developed in 1996 at Middle Tennessee State University. Since then, the program has expanded to the New Jersey Institute of Technology, California State University – Chico, Texas State University, and South Dakota State University is now the fifth program university. Lyman-Richey Corporation had the pleasure of having Josue participate in our Internship Program this Summer, where he got the hands-on experience to see what our industry entails and has to offer.

“It was a special opportunity for me to present this scholarship to Josue on behalf of the Nebraska Concrete & Aggregates Association as their Vice President, along with our Promotions Director, Jeff Mulder. Having Josue participate in our internship program at Lyman-Richey this summer made this opportunity even more special,” said Devon Barrett, Quality Control Manager for the Lyman-Richey Concrete Companies.
