Lyman-Richey Corp. Named A Safest Company for the Sixth Year in a Row
Lyman-Richey Corporation has again earned a Nebraska Safest Company Award from the National Safety Council.
"It’s great to be recognized as one of the Nebraska’s safest companies for the sixth year in a row," said LRC Safety Director Allen Myers. "This does not happen without a group effort."
Companies honored with the award must have averages of incidents, lost time, and DART rates that are better than the averages of their industry. Those averages are weighted over the last three years of submitted OSHA 300 logs, with more weight given to the most recent year.
"The hardware is nice," Myers said, "but what makes me proud is our continued focus and determination to improve our safety culture and reduce injuries."
The company's Injury and accident numbers declined for the second year in a row in 2017, and the peer Safety Alert Team was brought back. The company's sand and gravel operations earned seven Certificates of Achievement in Safety from the Mine Safety and Health Administration, and 17 drivers earned clean DOT inspections throughout the year.
Companies were honored at the Safety Council's annual Celebration of Safety luncheon on May 9, which featured former NBA All Star Mark Eaton.
