SAFETY DESK: Speak Up!

Can you remember a time when you thought to yourself, “I should say something,” but you stayed silent and later it becomes an issue?

Now looking back on it, don’t you wish you had said something?

We ask employees to report all injuries when they happen for three reasons:

  1. To get you the correct level of medical attention at the right time.

  2. To make sure incidents are on record, so if the injury worsens, we have a record of it and the surrounding facts.

  3. To make sure the same issue doesn’t result in a more serious injury to someone else.

If you get hurt - even the most minor of injuries - let your supervisor know!

The more we know, the more we can prevent. And the first step in preventing serious injuries is to continually talk about the minor ones.

Make safety personal.

Make safety a habit.
