Lyman-Richey Corporation employees donated more than 5,000 diapers in its annual drive for the Open Door Mission’s Lydia House.

“Diapers may not be the first thing people think about giving for Christmas,” said HR Generalist Kelly Hayduk, “but they are a big expense for families in need, especially around the stressful holiday season.”

Open Door Mission has been actively working to help those in need around Omaha for more than 60 years. Since 1999, The group runs the Lydia House to help women and families with food, shelter, and other basic needs, as well helping in situations of abuse, addiction, or unemployment.

Omaha’s Channel 94.1 has been organizing the annual diaper drive for the past 16 years. This year they collected more than 1 million diapers for area families.

“‘Thank you’ almost doesn’t feel like enough…” the station posted to their site. “It’s heartwarming to be able to physically feel all the love and generosity Omaha has for reach other!”
