Employees at the Ready Mixed Concrete plant in Elkhorn, Neb., raised around $1,100 to give two area families in need a bit of Christmas cheer.

Ray Agosta, an RMC mixer-truck driver and maintenance crewmember, brought the Salvation Army's Adopt-a-Family program to the plant four years ago. This year, with the help of mixer-truck driver Cory Coufal, the plant hit a fundraising high.

Gifts for the families' children were wrapped at the RMC Elkhorn plant on Saturday (Dec. 16) night, and Agosta delivered them the next morning.

"It just feels good," Agosta said. "It brings a little tear to your eye, and you just love kids. They're just sweet and innocent, and you know, they're just looking for a good Christmas."
